Discipline Code

The Discipline Code explains the rules, consequences, and supports for students in grades Pre-K through 6. It also includes the Student’s Bill of Rights and Responsibilities and information on how families can appeal decisions.

Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones, computing devices, and portable music or entertainment systems may not be turned on or used while on school property.

School-Based Consequences for Violations:

  • Warning
  • Confiscation and return at the end of the school day
  • Confiscation and return after a parent conference
  • Confiscation and return after signing a behavioral contract
  • Loss of privilege to bring the item to school
 

Students who violate this policy may also face disciplinary actions according to the NYC DOE Discipline Code.
