Welcome to our class!
September 2024
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students of 4-301,
Welcome to the 4th grade! This year will be an exciting one, full of discovery and challenge. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you! It is so wonderful to be back in school together for an amazing year.
I am also very eager to meet the parents of these wonderful children. Your child will be responsible for many things during this school year, and I look forward to working with all of you to achieve academic, social and personal growth for your child. It is very important that your child is independent with his/her academics:
Homework: must be completed nightly, and brought back to school the following morning. Homework is checked daily; if there is any reason that homework is not completed, please send in a note so that I am aware. Homework will then need to be made up as it is a percentage of their grades.
Absent/Going home early/Dismissal change: I would greatly appreciate a sick-note sent in with your child when they return to school. If you need to take your child home early, call the office, or send a note/text . If there is a dismissal change for the day, please send in a note or text ( no later than noon).
Permission Slips: P.S. 58 has wonderful and exciting activities throughout the entire year! Please send signed permission slips ASAP to ensure that your child can participate. Some activities incorporate food, so please make sure to indicate any allergies or food restrictions.
ALLERGIES- Medical Concerns: please send me any important information about your child's health, keeping your child healthy, and safe is a top priority.
Contacting Me: I would love to receive any notes brought in with your child or please leave a message with the main office for me at (718) 533-6754. I am also available by email at [email protected]. We will be using the Class DOJO app as well.
Children benefit when parents and teachers work together. I anticipate a wonderful and productive year. Please do not hesitate to contact me for anything!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Montalbano
