School Policies
Attendance Procedures
Regular attendance is essential for student success. Frequent absences interrupt learning and may affect academic progress. According to the New York State Education Department, all children must attend school every day unless they are ill.
If your child is absent, please follow these procedures:
- Call the main office to report the absence.
- Send a note to your child’s teacher when your child returns, stating the date(s) and reason for the absence.
- If an absence lasts more than 5 days, a doctor’s note is required.
- If your child must be out for more than 5 days due to serious illness or injury, please contact the school nurse.
Late Pickup Procedures
If a parent or guardian is late for dismissal:
- Enter through the 57th Avenue main entrance.
- Students are brought to the main office, and parents/guardians will be called.
- Anyone picking up a student must be listed on the emergency contact card and show valid ID.
