Student Challenges
Students in grades 3–6 participate in the annual ELA and Math Olympics, an exciting academic competition modeled after Jeopardy. Each grade competes three times in both ELA and Math challenges.
During each round:
- Students answer questions in a fast‑paced, quiz‑style format.
- One class is selected at random to choose the category and point value for each question.
- Teachers may also involve parents and students by inviting them to participate.
At the end of all challenges, the top three classes earn:
- Bronze Medals
- Silver Medals
- Gold Medals
How It Works:
- The MC reads each question while it appears on the screen.
- Teachers select one student to represent the class at the board.
- Students write their answer on the board and turn it over when finished—no calling out or leaving seats.
- The MC cues the students to reveal their answers as the correct answer appears on the screen.
- Correct answers earn points for the class, and a scorekeeper tracks points visibly for all.
This event encourages teamwork, academic skills, and sportsmanship.
Students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 take part in monthly Physical Education (PE) challenges to showcase the skills they learned throughout the month. Each month focuses on different sports, games, and fitness skills, and at the end of the month, students participate in:
- A School-Wide PE Challenge
- A Grade-Wide PE Challenge
Each month, a different grade level is selected to highlight what they’ve learned. These events allow students to demonstrate confidence, teamwork, and physical skills.
Parents are encouraged to attend and cheer on their children as they show what they’ve learned in PE class.
