Philosophy of PS 58

P.S. 58’s philosophy is based on the idea that schools were created to meet the academic and social needs of our students. With this in mind, our school is always centered on the students’ and parents’ needs. Therefore, everything we do at P.S. 58 will be in the best interests of each and every child and their parent. It is the intent of the staff to lead our students to be disciplined, productive, informed, and fulfilled individuals. We believe every child can strive for excellence and achieve it. To accomplish these goals, mutual respect and understanding must be present in the learning process on the part of all participants: the staff, students, parents, and the community. School must be a place where teachers can teach and students can learn.

Working together, we will be able to reach our collective and individual goals.
